Interventions for Severe Behaviour

Sometimes children and adults engage in behaviours that can negatively impact the quality of their lives and the lives of their families. At Behavioural Solutions we gather information (through a functional behavioural assessment), and then implement a plan to confirm the reasons for these behaviours. We then create an individualised plan to help our clients have a better quality of life. This might include developing a Behaviour Support Plan, as well as implementing specific teaching procedures to develop skills. Our interventions include Skills-Based Treatment (SBT) ©, which teaches communication skills, tolerance skills, and other skills needed for life. We achieve this by developing trusting relationships between our clients and their team, and their caregivers. We also implement the Balance Program for Emerging Problem Behaviour ©, an early intervention program that works with young children and their parents to prevent less severe behaviours from developing into more severe forms, such as self-injury and aggression.
